As a Laboratory Supervisor with our team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Laboratory function. This includes developing and implementing operational plans, managing Laboratory staff, and ensuring the safe operation of the Laboratory.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Planning: Develop and implement operational plans to achieve Laboratory targets, including budgeting and expenditure management.
  2. Team Supervision: Manage and supervise a team of Laboratory staff, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet their targets and goals.
  3. LIMS System Management: Oversee the operation, maintenance, and development of our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  4. Stock Control and Maintenance: Manage Laboratory stock control and maintenance processes to ensure efficient and effective operation.
  5. Safety Initiatives: Participate in safety initiatives, including 5S and continuous improvement programs.
  6. Procedure Development: Develop and document existing and new procedures and systems to ensure compliance and best practice.
  7. Laboratory Accreditation: Work towards laboratory accreditation by implementing and maintaining quality standards.
  8. External Resource Management: Coordinate and manage external resources as required by business needs.
  9. Management Team Contribution: Contribute to the overall management team, providing input and guidance on strategic decisions.

Requirements:

  • A relevant third-level laboratory, scientific, or environmental science qualification.
  • A minimum of 5 years' laboratory operational experience.
  • Relevant leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Organisational and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain an inclusive culture.
