Clinical Nurse Specialist: Promoting Patient-Centred Cancer Care
Job Description:The role of the Clinical Nurse Specialist is to work collaboratively with a multi-professional team in promoting a patient-centred approach to cancer care. This involves providing nursing expertise, education, and management consultation services to patients, their families, and the multidisciplinary team in all areas of this specialty.
In doing so, they will also contribute to nurse-led quality initiatives that meet national, regional, and local standards in cancer, supportive, and palliative care.
This includes ensuring high-risk patients considering risk reduction surgery are supported throughout their care from surveillance to post-operative discharge.
Additionally, it is expected that the post holder will provide cancer care support to those high-risk gene carriers who develop cancer.
Required Skills and Qualifications:- Nursing expertise and experience in surgical oncology
