Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Inventory Controller to join our team at Primtac Personnel. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing inventory management processes for wood products and ensuring efficient stock control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective inventory management strategies for timber products.
  • Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels of various wood materials, including logs, lumber, and finished wood products.
  • Coordinate with logistics and purchasing teams to ensure timely replenishment of stock.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast demand, and prevent stockouts or overstocking.
  • Implement and maintain a system for proper labeling and identification of wood species and harvest dates.
  • Oversee the storage and handling of raw materials to prevent degradation and ensure quality.
  • Collaborate with production teams to optimize work-in-process inventory levels.
  • Develop strategies to manage seasonal fluctuations in timber supply and demand.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in inventory management, preferably in the wood products or related industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Understanding of lean inventory principles and best practices in stock control.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
