Our Graduate Support Worker role is an exceptional opportunity for professional growth and making a positive impact.
The successful candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, utilising holistic approaches to support Depaul service users. The role operates under the principle of harm minimisation, providing high-quality care, support, and dignity to residents.
Depaul prioritises service user participation and empowerment, enabling residents to manage their lives effectively.
This position involves working across a 7-day week rota.
Upon completion of the 12-month programme, graduates will achieve:
- Effective collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team to serve the best interests of residents.
- Supporting service users in developing essential skills for daily living.
- Participating in key worker sessions with service users as required.
- Delivering a presentation on the Graduate Programme experience.
- Encourage and facilitate service users in managing their daily living activities.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and hygienic environment, including communal areas, in conjunction with residents and the team.
- Empower service users to take ownership of their living space.
- Attend key worker sessions with service users as necessary.
- Conduct a report on an assigned case study during the Support Worker Rotation.
- Assist residents with personal finances, service charge payments, etc., when necessary, in coordination with the project team.
- Perform administrative tasks such as petty cash management, project statistics, invoices, record keeping, Service User files, OTIS, IR, and AR completion.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards within the project according to Depaul's policies.
- Undertake duties related to the overall health, safety, and security of the service, including the use of security systems.
- Provide support to residents in maintaining positive mental health.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, reporting to the team and partner agencies when Case Workers are unavailable.
- Organise and facilitate onsite social activities.
- Attend and participate in team meetings and staff days.
- Engage in regular supervision and annual appraisals, identifying job-related development and training needs.
- Participate in ongoing graduate programmes and events.

Person Requirements and Experience- Qualification in the Social Care field (Social Care, Psychology, Social Science, Criminology, or Community Development).
- Relevant experience, such as student placements or voluntary work in the Social Care sector.
- Understanding of homelessness causes and available support options for individuals with complex needs.
- Knowledge of statutory and voluntary sector resources for homeless people.
- Good communication skills and computer literacy.
- Understanding of Depaul's vision, mission, and values.
- Ability to work shifts.
- Driving License.
This post requires CORU registration. If you do not hold current registration, you must demonstrate that you are working towards it, with existing experience within the Social Care sector.
