Senior Database Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator to join our team. As a Senior Database Administrator, you will play a critical role in leading large initiatives, gathering requirements, performing analysis and implementation of database designs, providing consulting, and driving best practices for Database Engineering.

The ideal candidate should have experience with Oracle databases, including RAC, data guard, OEM, patching and upgrades, backups and restores, performance tuning, Golden Gate replication, and Exadata. You should also have knowledge of multiple database technologies, including Oracle, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the Database Engineering team in implementing database solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Providing expert-level guidance on database design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to estimate, design, and implement database solutions.
  • Developing and maintaining technical documentation for database processes and procedures.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in database administration, with a focus on Oracle databases.
  • Strong understanding of database management principles, including installation, creation, space management, backup and recovery, replication, and performance monitoring.
  • Knowledge of RDBMS and NoSQL databases, with relevant certifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.

Bonus points if you have experience with:

  • Database automation using tools like Ansible or Puppet.
  • Containerization using Docker.
  • Cloud infrastructure, such as AWS or Azure.
