Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical and mechanical engineering, with experience in troubleshooting and operating complex equipment. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a diverse team of engineers, technicians, and other support staff. Your primary responsibilities will include:
  1. Safety: Ensuring compliance with AWS safety policies and procedures, and maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  2. Engineering & Facility Operations and Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment, including UPS's, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS's), Diesel Generators, Chillers, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), Exhaust Fans, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's), and Transformers.
  3. Troubleshooting events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA's).
  4. Supervising contractor or Engineering Operations Technicians to ensure proper operation and maintenance of all facility equipment.
  5. Providing training and guidance to junior colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in the maintenance and repair of data center equipment, including electrical and mechanical systems.
  2. Perform routine inspections and testing of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  3. Collaborate with senior engineers and technical teams to resolve complex technical issues.
  4. Develop and maintain documentation for equipment and processes.
  5. Provide input on process improvements and implement changes as necessary.
