Company Overview:

The Department of Earth, Atmospheric & Planetary Sciences at MIT invites applications for Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowships. These fellowships support exceptional early-career scientists with interests in the broad range of disciplines represented in the department.

Fellows pursue independent research but are also encouraged to collaborate with one or more faculty members in the department. A faculty mentor hosts each fellow, providing guidance and support throughout their appointment.

Job Description:

As a Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellow, you will have the opportunity to conduct innovative research in a dynamic and interdisciplinary environment. You will work closely with faculty members to design and execute your research project, which may involve collaborations with other departments or institutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., Earth sciences, atmospheric science, planetary science)
  • Exceptional research skills and a strong publication record
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Possession of excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Benefits:

  • An annual stipend of $64,000
  • Full coverage of premiums for affiliate health and basic dental and vision insurance
  • A yearly allowance of $5,000 for research and relocation expenses
