Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Management Specialist to join our team in Frankfurt, Germany. This is an 18-month contract opportunity that will allow you to utilize your expertise in cost control and project management.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead capital expenditure estimation for large-scale industrial and pharmaceutical projects, delivering high-accuracy estimates.
  • Develop and implement cost control systems and procedures across international EPC/EPCM projects.
  • Manage the entire project controls lifecycle: budgeting, cost estimation, forecasting, sensitivity analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Oversight of day-to-day cost control operations, including accruals, commitments, resource planning, and financial forecasting.
  • Deliver internal and external financial performance reports, including earned value analysis, variation analysis, and shareholder presentations.
  • Define and maintain Work Breakdown Structures, cost breakdowns, and contract documentation to support project planning and execution.
  • Risk management, change order, and claim management, contingency tracking, and alignment with business/contractual requirements.
  • Collaboration with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and delivery teams to ensure cost and schedule alignment.
  • Providing training and support to engineers on estimating and cost control for small to mid-sized projects.
  • Experience in financial reporting, P&L analysis, audit interface, and project loan refinancing.
  • Application of advanced cost management techniques and tools, including SAP, Power BI, Primavera, and MS Project.
Key Requirements
  • Extensive experience in cost control and project controls across complex, international mega projects.
  • Strong background in regulated industries, such as life sciences, chemicals, manufacturing, oil and gas, and infrastructure sectors.
  • Certification in Financial Modeling and Valuation Analysis (FMVA), Cost Management & Strategy (CMSA) or Business Intelligence Data Analyst (BIDA) with advanced knowledge of earned value management.
  • Skilled in contract management, change control, and financial governance.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Fluent in English and experienced in multicultural project environments.
