Electrical Design Engineer Role Overview

This is a key position within the engineering team responsible for the development and delivery of electrical designs to facilitate the manufacture of complex automated equipment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing electrical systems for automation projects
  • Detailed electrical schematics creation for build purposes
  • Sourcing electrical components in line with design requirements
  • Crafting test plans and documentation packs for electrical designs
  • Collaborating on electrical debugging tasks
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers as needed
  • Maintaining project deadlines and ensuring timely delivery

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in electrical/electronic engineering, preferably with manufacturing content
  • A minimum of three years' experience in electrical design, industrial wiring, and debugging manufacturing equipment
  • Familiarity with machine elements including electrical controls, AC/DC motors, servo motors, inverters, panel equipment, drives, and pneumatics
  • Proficiency in software packages such as Eplan, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of PLC programming and control methodologies
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work legally in Ireland and relocate near Sligo for this office-based role
  • Current driving license and willingness to travel as required
