Job Overview

The QC Microbiology Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring efficient and effective quality control processes. This position is responsible for qualifying the Microbiology Quality Control lab, transferring analytical methods, and streamlining testing flow to meet lean principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support laboratory readiness, equipment qualification, and method transfers.
  • Perform routine microbiological analyses including environmental monitoring, WFI testing, growth promotion testing, In-process product testing, and Final product testing such as bioburden and kinetic turbidimetric testing.
  • Document findings accurately and maintain up-to-date records on LIMS.
  • Train and be trained in Rapid microbiology techniques including endotoxin testing, water bioburden testing, EM testing, absence of bioburden testing, and identification testing.
  • Adhere to up-to-date analytical practices aligned with pharmacopoeias, specifications, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Develop and update SOPs, write protocols as required, and support laboratory testing schedules to ensure an efficient QC system.
  • Manage samples received for stability, In-process, and release testing.
  • Prepare reagents, perform cleaning tasks, and maintain routine equipment operation.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and GLP within the laboratory.
  • Calibrate and maintain all designated laboratory instruments.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, inspections, audits, incident investigations, etc., and implement corrective/preventive measures.
  • Ensure current training on job functions performed and assist in training new QC Analysts on routine procedures.
  • Order, stock, and receive laboratory supplies.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with company SOPs, specifications, and cGMP regulations.
