Textiles Merchandiser

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement seasonal plans with department buyers to meet business objectives.
  • Coordinate open-to-buy plans for the season, adjusting forward buy requirements as needed to ensure optimal inventory levels.
  • Review and sign off on core and volume line units within weekly forecast sheets to maintain a continuous supply chain from suppliers.
  • Verify charges, pricing, and margin accuracy within budget plans to optimize profitability.
  • Collaborate with online and regional teams to coordinate buy volumes within budget and open-to-buy parameters.
  • Maintain online availability by working with buying and online merchandising teams to ensure seamless product flow.
  • Manage launches, fashion, and transitional stories, as well as seasonal events to drive sales and customer engagement.
  • Plan and control department overheads to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
  • Identify current stock shortages and agree on actions to be taken to prevent losses.
  • Implement general markdowns (slow sellers and seasonal clean-ups) to clear inventory and improve profitability.
  • Review size ratio issues and confirm changes on forward cuts with suppliers to ensure optimal product fit.
  • Monitor store performance through regular contact and store visits to inform business decisions.

Requirements:

  • Experience in textiles merchandise management or a related field.
  • Strong planning and analytical skills to drive business success.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment to achieve common goals.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to navigate complex situations.
