Job Title:

Research Associate in Environmental Engineering

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and developing their scholarly research and professional activities through defined projects, contributing towards teaching and learning in the School, and collaborating with industry stakeholders where applicable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and develop scholarly research and professional activities through defined projects.
  • Contribute towards teaching and learning in the School.
  • Collaborate with industry stakeholders where applicable.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in Environmental Engineering and relevant work experience in collaborating with industry stakeholders. Additionally, they should have demonstrated knowledge and expertise in one or more of the following areas: air quality and treatment; water quality and management; chemical and sensory odorant analysis; data science including bioinformatics and/or machine learning.

  • Demonstrated ability to undertake high-quality academic research and conduct independent and applied research with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
  • Passion for teaching and learning development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level; experience or preparedness to undertake professional development of teaching practice; evidence of ability to support and inspire students; highly developed interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
