Job Description

As a Support Worker, you will be working in a residential setting providing care and support to individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities, as well as those with autism. Your role will involve supporting service users with daily living activities, assisting with personal care, promoting independence, and facilitating community integration.

The Role

You will work closely with the team to ensure the best possible outcomes for service users. This includes developing and implementing individualized care plans, supporting with health and wellbeing, and advocating on behalf of service users.

Responsibilities
  • Support service users with daily living activities, such as personal care and meal preparation
  • Assist service users with mobility issues and facilitate participation in community activities
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account the needs and goals of each service user
  • Support service users with their health and wellbeing, including administering medication and maintaining accurate records
  • Act as an advocate for service users, ensuring their rights and dignity are respected
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A minimum QQI Level 5 qualification in Health or Social Care
  • At least one year's experience working in a healthcare setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with service users and colleagues alike
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to work patterns and hours
