Ecological Consultant Opportunity

Deliver high-quality ecological consultancy services to public and private sector clients.

A leading indigenous consultancy in Ireland specialises in sustainable infrastructure, circular economy, environment, and energy and renewables.

  • Manage individual contracts to ensure excellent ecological consultancy services.
  • Provide specialist ecological advice across diverse projects.
  • Plan, conduct, and oversee site ecological surveys and fieldwork.
  • Prepare and supervise the implementation of environmental management plans.
  • Conduct assessments and prepare environmental reports.
  • Write detailed technical reports and project deliverables.
  • Ensure quality control with a strong focus on accuracy, timelines, and continuous improvement of the Ecology team's output.
  • Act as expert witness during oral hearings.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and participate in meetings with clients and design teams.
Requirements:
  • Degree in ecology or related discipline.
  • At least seven years of post-graduate experience in environmental consultancy.
  • Member of CIEEM, CIWEM, or comparable professional body.
  • Experienced in participating in oral hearing process and serving as an expert witness.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Irish wildlife and conservation legislation.
  • Strong technical report writing skills.
  • Proven experience in preparing and overseeing the implementation of environmental management plans.
  • Experienced in collaborating within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and project management skills.
