Job Title: Financial Services Specialist

About the Role

This is a 12 month fixed term contract opportunity to support day-to-day loan operations, engage with members and ensure the smooth and efficient handling of loan applications from initial query to underwriting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Loan Approval and Administration:
    • Work with the Credit Officer or as delegated to implement lending policy efficiently and effectively.
    • Deal with members in a confidential, discreet and sensitive manner, exercising judgement and care in the approval and recommendation of loans.
    • Provide expert, tailored lending advice based on each member's needs.
    • Act as the first point of contact for loan queries; take and assess loan applications across the full range of loan products.
    • Conduct thorough financial assessments to determine suitable options.
    • Maintain CRM records and manage pipeline activity efficiently.
    • Deal with other member queries as they arise.
    • Maintain fast turnaround times while ensuring compliance with AML and lending policies.
    • Collaborate with marketing and business development to enhance member offerings.
  • Other:
    • Perform duties delegated by Management or Supervisory staff from time to time.
What You'll Need

We're looking for a detail-oriented and motivated individual who possesses excellent communication skills. Key qualifications include:

  • Financial Services Knowledge:
    • Familiarity with credit union lending policies and procedures.
  • Interpersonal Skills:
    • Able to work with members in a confidential and sensitive manner.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in CRM software and able to maintain accurate records.
