Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Utilities Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all mechanical utility systems on site.

The primary focus of this role is to ensure full compliance with regulatory, environmental, and safety standards. This includes owning and managing utility systems to deliver reliable and uninterrupted services to all users and processes across the facility.

In addition to these responsibilities, the successful candidate will foster a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, and safety within the Utilities Engineering team.

This is a senior leadership role that requires strong leadership and effective communication skills. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, collaborative, and adaptable with a positive, proactive mindset.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in mechanical utilities engineering within a regulated manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of GMP compliance, EHS, environmental licensing, energy efficiency, and wastewater systems
  • Skilled in managing complex contractor relationships and utility service agreements
  • Familiarity with ISO standards, particularly ISO 50001
  • Experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and performance reporting

Technical Competencies

The ideal candidate will have significant expertise in relevant Utilities Engineering systems and processes. They will also have knowledge of safety, GMP, sustainability and environmental regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

A Bachelors degree (Level 8 NFQ or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is required. A masters degree and/or professional certification is advantageous.
