Early Years Educator Job Description

Job Overview:

The Early Years Educator will play a vital role in providing high-quality childcare and education to young children. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about working with children in an early-years setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Crèche Manager and other team members to ensure the delivery of exceptional childcare services.
  • Act as a key worker to specified children, providing individualized attention and support.
  • Ensure the safety, security, and wellbeing of all children in your care.
  • Plan and implement a stimulating programme of activities that promote children's natural growth and development.
  • Maintain high-quality standards in all aspects of childcare provision.
  • Guide, observe, stimulate, and supervise children in a safe and caring environment.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications, including a minimum of FETAC Level 6 Childcare.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and non-verbal.
  • A strong desire to work with children in an early-years setting and an aptitude for child-centred care.
  • Excellent team worker.
  • Flexibility to meet the needs of the organisation.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year's previous experience preferred (however new graduate applications are encouraged and will be accepted and considered).
  • Working knowledge of Aistear & Síolta programme.
  • First Aid skills/training.
  • Level 8 in Early Childhood, Teaching and Learning.

Working Hours and Salary:

35 hours per week; competitive salary scale from €31,713 to €38,714.
