DevOps Engineer for Software Configuration Management

About the Role
This position involves designing, implementing, and maintaining efficient software configuration management practices to ensure alignment with industry-standard best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Improve Current Practices: Design and implement improvements on current SCM/DevOps practices.
- Automate Processes: Strategize and implement automation processes, deploying monitoring systems, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to deliver agile, flexible, and customer-focused solutions.
- Tool Expertise: Leverage advanced tools and methodologies to improve software development, testing, and delivery.
- Architecture Security: Ensure security, reliability, and scalability of the DevOps architecture.
Requirements
- Degree and Experience: Bachelor's (BS) degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field; work experience as a DevOps engineer with a background in Software Configuration Management (SCM).
- Software Development: Experience working with software development teams and understanding of DevOps philosophies, Agile methods, and how to apply them.
- Coding Skills: Good command of Python and Groovy.
- AWS and Linux: Basic familiarity with AWS, focusing on instance and resource management, and strong knowledge of git.
- Jenkins and Pipelines: A deep understanding of Jenkins and experience with designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
Desired Skills
- Testing Tools: Experience with unit testing, box testing, and automated testing tools.
- Cloud Platforms: Understanding of cloud and virtualization platforms, automation, and application hosting technologies.
