Job Description

\

We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant - Strategic Transport Modelling to join our growing team based in Dublin. The successful candidate will focus on developing strategic highway, public transport, and/or multi-modal models, providing strong technical guidance to clients across Ireland.

\

The role involves supporting the management and delivery of Data, Modelling, and Analytics projects in Ireland. You will become a technical expert in the application of the National Transport Authority Regional Transport Modelling system, including setting up and running modelling scenarios and extracting, processing, and presenting modelling results to clients and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • \
  • Executing tasks to quality, time, and budget\
  • Specifying information requirements directly to the client\
  • Identifying the information needed to deliver tasks\
  • Reviewing the accuracy of Assistant consultants' analysis\
  • Stakeholder, client, and cross-functional relationship management\
  • Demonstrating thoroughness and judgement in analysing information and presenting conclusions\
  • Taking responsibility for defined sections of SYSTRA reports\
  • Ensuring successful project delivery to time, cost, quality, and other contractual requirements\
  • Working with clients to understand ultimate objectives and desired outcomes for each project\
  • Profile/Skills: Qualitative & quantitative research skills, working with complex datasets, transport or mathematical modelling experience, and experience using various software tools\
  • Computer skills, including AutoCAD design, spreadsheets, databases, programming/coding, and statistical analysis\
  • Being a team player and contributing to projects in other sectors as required (Transport Planning, Rail consultancy, development planning etc)\

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must have:

\
  • \
  • Experience in transport or mathematical modelling\
  • Knowledge of the National Transport Authority Regional Transport Modelling system\
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in software tools such as Cube, SATURN, Aimsun, Paramics, Vissum, Vissim, EMME\
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills\
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team\
  • Ability to analyse complex data and present findings effectively\
  • Intermediate proficiency in programming/coding and statistical analysis\
  • Good understanding of project management principles and practices\
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software tools and techniques\
  • Highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment\
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint\
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as transportation engineering, mathematics, computer science, or economics\
  • Mastery of SQL, Python, and R programming languages\
  • Valid driver's license\
  • Ability to pass a background check\
