About the role

Our team is developing a platform that enables efficient execution of large EDA workloads across various Cloud Platforms and hybrid ground-to-cloud environments. The work involves designing and developing cloud orchestration elements, mirrored Linux filesystems, and complex testing frameworks. As part of this effort, we are seeking a skilled software architect who can bring additional depth to this area.

We Are Looking For Individuals Who

  • Elevate the quality of SW delivery and assist others to reach high standards
  • Achieve professional growth alongside the evolving landscape of HPC in the cloud
  • Collaborate directly with teams at Azure, AWS, and Google to identify effective support for EDA workloads
  • Design and develop software that will run in public clouds and HPC grids.
  • Become a founding member of a pioneering SW team in Ireland

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has extensive experience in designing, developing, and leading commissioning efforts for cloud-based microservices and orchestration software on public cloud
  • Is an expert-level Linux user
  • Has excellent knowledge of networking protocols, microservice communications, and data streaming (e.g., gRPC, TCP/IP, REST)
  • Has developed java-based software solutions for complex distributed systems
  • Embraces agile methodologies and has a passion for delivering customer value quickly.
  • Has a background in HPC or EDA
  • Is flexible and willing to adapt as the team grows
  • Is interested in understanding the inner workings of systems.
  • Has strong problem-solving skills coupled with effective communication.

The Responsibilities

  • Full end-to-end ownership of SW component design and delivery
  • Collaboration with internal teams to foster a Quality First mentality and shift testing left
  • Mentoring and coaching team members in producing production-quality software solutions
  • Developing frameworks and components for high-performance distributed software systems
  • Working within and leading Scrum teams while contributing to all tasks and team goals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Software Engineering, Technology, or a relevant field
  • Deep understanding of various testing frameworks and methodologies
  • Experience with object-oriented or alternative software design paradigms
  • Familiarity with Cloud infrastructure and SaaS, with past experience on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
  • Excellent communication skills, including presenting ideas and sharing knowledge with others
  • Experience with software development best practices throughout the engineering lifecycle
  • Proven technical leadership of SW domain areas
  • Sustained experience in complex software development
