Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing daily transport plans, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the routing of drivers, trucks, and equipment. They will also work closely with fellow planners to optimize resource allocation and logistics, communicate effectively with Transport Administrators, and provide drivers with clear, accurate instructions and necessary updates.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with other planners to develop and implement daily transport plans.
  • Ensure the accuracy and efficiency of driver routes, truck assignments, and equipment utilization.
  • Collaborate with fellow planners to optimize resource allocation and logistics.
  • Communicate with Transport Administrators to maintain high-quality customer service.
  • Provide drivers with clear, accurate instructions and necessary updates.
  • Record and address any discrepancies in job instructions.
  • Monitor and balance driver working hours throughout the week.
  • Manage driver leave requests to ensure adequate staffing during critical periods.
  • Support the Transport Administration Team when required.
  • Ensure timely dissemination of essential instructions, such as site audits, to drivers.
  • Escalate operational, safety, and HR concerns as appropriate.
  • Contribute to driving continuous improvement and efficiency in planning operations.
  • Support the Transport Manager in defining and tracking Key Performance Metrics.
  • Achieve Monthly and Annual Performance Indicators.
  • Maintain the highest standard of customer service in line with company values.
  • Propose operational improvements to management.
  • Participate in relevant operational meetings as required.
  • Report quality or safety risks and suggest enhancements.
  • Provide on-call support outside standard working hours on a rotational basis.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Transport & Logistics or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a similar role.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Multilingual abilities are advantageous.
