Warehouse Operations Manager

This position oversees the efficient day-to-day running of warehouse operations. Ensuring clear and effective communication across warehouse teams is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Management & Communication
    • Ensure open dialogue between warehouse staff and senior management.
    • Act as a liaison between departments and external logistics providers.
  • Leadership & Team Motivation
    • Manage and motivate a team to foster a positive work environment.
    • Lead by example, supporting team morale and high performance.
  • Planning & Organising
    • Plan daily workloads, truck schedules, and deliveries.
    • Manage the team roster, ensuring adequate coverage and workflow.
    • Prioritise and delegate tasks effectively to meet operational goals.
    • Oversee customer service within the warehouse.
  • Team Delegation & Supervision
    • Delegate responsibilities appropriately and manage resources efficiently.
    • Prepare stock areas for incoming goods.
    • Coordinate goods-in processes, including unloading and inter-branch transfers.
    • Manage container deliveries and ensure unloading happens as scheduled.
    • Plan and oversee regular cycle counts and annual stocktake.
    • Monitor performance, provide mentoring, and support team development.
  • Conflict Resolution & Management
    • Handle conflicts professionally, promoting resolution and team cohesion.
    • Maintain a fair approach to conflict management.
  • Systems Management
    • Identify areas for system improvements and efficiencies.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse processes and stock control systems.
  • Compliance & Health and Safety
    • Ensure health and safety regulations are met.
    • Maintain a clean, safe working environment.
    • Manage staff time off and holidays to minimise disruption.
    • Conduct risk assessments and enforce safety protocols.
Qualifications and Skills

Proven experience in warehouse or logistics management; Strong leadership and team management skills; Excellent planning, organisation, and delegation capabilities; Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills; Ability to resolve conflicts and motivate teams effectively; Competency with warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office Suite; Understanding of health & safety and compliance regulations;
