The Opportunity

We're seeking a skilled Ecologist to join our dynamic environment and ecology team. This role involves conducting a variety of ecological surveys across Ireland, including multidisciplinary assessments of habitats, invasive species, mammals, bats, breeding and wintering birds, and amphibians.

You'll work with and be supported by our ecologists across Ireland and Northern Ireland who are immersed in nature restoration projects, emerging areas such as biodiversity metrics, and have also developed a track record in Appropriate Assessment and knowledge of protected site networks in Ireland.

As an Ecologist at Arup, you'll:

  • Collaborate with our environment team in Ireland and ecologists in Northern Ireland and the UK
  • Manage and deliver Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA) and Appropriate Assessments (AA)
  • Conduct or co-ordinate a variety of ecological surveys (habitats, invasive species, mammals, bats, breeding and wintering birds, amphibians, etc.)
  • Collate and analyse ecological data
