Job Title: Health and Safety Governance Specialist

Role Overview

To provide professional administrative support to various health, safety, and governance functions within the Quality and Governance Directorate. The role involves coordinating and maintaining compliance records, managing incident and claims documentation, tracking actions and deadlines, supporting reporting processes, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate compliance, inspection, and incident records, ensuring timely follow-up on actions.
  • Use QGMIS and other systems to extract and present data for reports, dashboards, and committee papers.
  • Coordinate Fire Risk Assessment records, action plans, and related compliance documentation.
  • Assist with preparing and issuing safety communications, bulletins, and policy updates.
  • Support claims handling, including evidence gathering, redaction, and liaison with insurers and loss adjusters.
  • Arrange and support meetings, including agendas, minutes, and action tracking.
  • Undertake general administrative tasks to support the Directorate as required.
Requirements
  • 5 GCSEs at grades A*C (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics.
  • At least 1 year's experience in an administrative role involving data management, compliance tracking, or governance support.
  • Experience using IT systems to extract, analyze, and present information.
  • Experience preparing formal reports, correspondence, or committee papers.
