We are seeking a dedicated and caring Hospital Care Assistant (HCA) to join our team at St. Patrick's Mental Health Services. The successful candidate will work closely with service users, providing support and guidance to facilitate their recovery journey.
The role involves delivering service user care within a multi-disciplinary care setting, delivering liaison services, communication, supervision, and access coordination. The successful candidate must have experience of facilitating group activities both face-to-face and virtually, and working in an inpatient mental health setting.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, be able to cope with pressure and demands, and prioritize activities/events effectively. They will also be able to develop and maintain constructive working relationships at all levels within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver service user care within a multi-disciplinary care setting
- Deliver liaison services, communication, supervision, and access coordination
- Facilitate group activities and accompany service users on garden walks
- Assist with daily/regular meetings to explain activity timetables and hospital facilities
Requirements:
- Minimum FETAC level 5 qualification in a healthcare discipline
- Full, clean category B driving license and willingness to drive a hospital van
- Age between 23 and 69 years for insurance purposes
- Experience of facilitating group activities both face-to-face and virtually
- Working in an inpatient mental health setting and with different healthcare professionals (highly desirable)
