Job Description:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for working with external vendors to specify, develop and commission new process technologies.
  • This includes developing and installing new manufacturing and process technologies to support product development and product transfers.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and be able to select and source equipment and tooling required to meet capability and capacity requirements.
  • They will also be responsible for setting up new manufacturing equipment/production lines, including training of process technicians and product builders as needed.
  • The role requires applying new technologies and methodologies to optimise process design and performance.
  • The successful candidate will also evaluate process and design alternatives based on Design for Manufacturability principles.
  • They will develop manufacturing processes from prototyping to full-scale production and lead process development projects, working as part of the project team.
  • The role involves understanding and addressing work environment issues, including H&S activities associated with new process development.
  • The successful candidate will create work plans and schedules for development activity and execute to plan.
  • They will establish processes based on product specifications in line with Unit Cost metrics.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A Level 8 degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working with manufacturing process design and optimisation within a highly regulated environment.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with all Office software packages.
  • Experience working within a medical device environment is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems with innovative and cost-effective solutions.
