Job Description

As a Product Development Engineering Intern, you will be an integral part of Stryker's 2025 Cooperative cohort in our Limerick location.

You will have the opportunity to work on various projects, including process improvement initiatives and product development, under the guidance of our experienced engineers.

Your tasks may include identifying process improvements, developing and coordinating inspection and testing procedures, formulating test guidelines and procedures, and extracting and processing test data into formal written and verbal reports.

You will also have the opportunity to design, install, and maintain process sampling systems, procedures, statistical techniques, testing mechanisms, equipment, and fixtures.

In addition, you will assist in the maintenance of test equipment and test lab fixtures and fittings, and ensure compliance with documentation procedures and maintain test laboratory housekeeping standards.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in product development engineering and contribute to the success of Stryker's products.

Requirements

To be eligible for this internship, you must be currently completing an Irish or Northern Irish university qualification in Engineering courses, including Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Research & Development, Product Design and Technology, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Biochemistry, Automation Engineering, Data & Analytics, Materials Science, Medical Device Design, Chemistry, Packaging Engineering, or relevant studies.

You must also have very good visual acuity and demonstrate fine motor skills, as well as observe and correct minute inconsistencies. Additionally, you must be able to analyze and correct complex testing and/or systems issues of a broad scope using independent judgment.

Honesty and integrity are essential, and you must comply with the quality system, regulations, and company policies. You should be self-motivated, flexible, and hardworking, and enjoy working in a dynamic, fast, and results-oriented environment.

You must also be a team player and capable of working as part of a multi-disciplined team. Finally, you must be available for either 6, 9, or 12 months – exact duration and start date to be discussed with your Talent Acquisition Business Partner at Stryker.
