Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead our commercial management and cost control teams. As a senior QS professional, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of large-scale projects from inception to completion.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Irish construction contracts, procurement routes, and commercial best practices. You will also have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and guide junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the commercial management and cost control of large-scale projects
  • Prepare detailed cost plans, tender documentation, and bills of quantities
  • Manage procurement processes and provide strategic input on subcontractor selection and contract negotiations
  • Oversee interim valuations, variations, and final accounts with accuracy and commercial insight
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and design teams on commercial matters
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to junior team members

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline
  • 7+ years experience within a consultancy or client-side QS role, managing diverse and complex projects
  • Strong knowledge of Irish construction contracts, procurement routes, and commercial best practices
  • Proven ability to lead teams and communicate effectively with all project stakeholders
  • Proficiency with industry-standard software and MS Office applications
  • Chartered status with SCSI or RICS preferred, or actively working towards chartership
