Job Title: Research and Development Chemist
About the Role:
We are seeking a talented scientist to join our dynamic team in Cork. Our company is an industry leader in the field of industrial water treatment, known for delivering high-quality solutions to leading dairy, food, beverage, industrial, and pharmaceutical companies.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop new product formulations that meet industry standards and customer needs.
- Improve existing formulations through research, testing, recording, and reporting.
- Drive the development of laboratory capabilities and analytical techniques.
- Champion sustainability initiatives and green product formulations.
- Lead projects from research and development to customer trials.
- Collaborate with customers on tender opportunities.
- Maintain compliance with quality management systems and ISO 17025 standards.
- Contribute to laboratory improvements and SOP development.
- Participate in audits and drive database development.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
- Support laboratory functions and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and hygiene.
- Support safety and compliance initiatives.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry.
- Minimum 3-4 years' experience in industry, preferably in detergent formulations and water treatment chemicals.
- Proven experience in research and development, desirable.
- Strong core chemistry skills and working knowledge of ISO 17025 and 9001.
- Experience with analytical instrumentation, good IT skills, and fluent English.
