Job Title: Civils Estimator
">We are seeking an experienced Civils Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying, engineering, or construction management.
">Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate cost estimates, BOQs, and activity schedules using estimating software (e.g., CCS Candy).
- Carry out detailed quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
- Develop and issue subcontractor/supplier enquiry packages, evaluate quotations, and negotiate alignment with project requirements.
- Identify and manage tender deliverables, providing input into project risk registers and commercial documentation.
- Contribute to value engineering by developing innovative and cost-effective solutions.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, designers, and clients through meetings, site visits, and tender reviews.
- Support project handovers by preparing robust commercial documents and ensuring alignment with execution teams.
Requirements:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying / Engineering/Construction Management or Similar.
- Full Drivers Licence.
- 7 years estimating experience on projects up to £25m.
- Be able to complete civil take offs from first principles.
- IT skills with Estimating Software.
- A good understanding of the various forms of contract.
