Compassionate Kitchen Associate

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic trainee chef to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in a professional kitchen while contributing to vital community services.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals for both older persons and children.
- Learn and apply food safety standards, including HACCP procedures.
- Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in food preparation and kitchen areas.
- Portion, package, and label meals for delivery and childcare service.
- Support stock rotation and inventory management.
- Assist with deliveries and liaise with the delivery team.
- Provide cover during staff absences and busy periods.
- Collaborate with childcare staff to ensure meals meet dietary and nutritional guidelines.
- HACCP Certification (training provided).
- Manual Handling Training.
- On-the-job mentoring from experienced kitchen staff.
- Career guidance and support for progression into catering or hospitality.
- Opportunities to engage with community services and understand the impact of food support programs for both older persons and children.
- No prior experience required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential.
- Interest in food, cooking, and community service.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude.

- Willingness to undertake training and grow professionally.
