
Equipment Specialist

This role is focused on delivering technical expertise to ensure optimal equipment performance and efficient issue resolution.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing downtime metrics and product yields, utilizing data-driven insights to inform process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of technical performance and reliability to achieve zero downtime in the designated area relating to equipment faults, through proactive equipment management.
- Evaluate equipment and process inputs/outputs to guarantee optimal visual and functional product performance, and take prompt action before it affects uptime or yield.
- Complete PM's on schedule and implement enhancements when necessary, ensuring optimal equipment performance at all times.
- Identify requirements for jigs/fixtures to enhance workstation efficiency or yield improvement and facilitate implementation through the approval process, backed by supporting data on potential gains.
- Ensure tooling including mandrels/trim fixtures etc. are readily available to the line when required and are in optimal working order and suitable for purpose.
- Establish a robust process for consumable equipment spares to minimize downtime.
- Support the on-boarding of new technician hires as needed.
- Be fully competent in manufacturing product through all worksteps and identify Accept and Reject samples for all steps.
- Continuously review the manufacturing process for improper application of work methods and equipment settings.
- Communicate effectively with the Line Lead and Line Support Technician regarding equipment and process issues, providing a clear plan for resolution grounded in data.
- Support equipment introduction and maintain accurate up-to-date documentation.
To succeed in this role, applicants should possess:
Essential Qualifications:
- Level 6 or above in Engineering or equivalent (preferably Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering).
- At least 5 years' experience in a technical role in a similar field, with demonstrated proficiency in automated equipment maintenance an advantage.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex machine faults using knowledge of electrical and pneumatic systems, and resolve these issues efficiently.
- Highly motivated individual with strong initiative and excellent work ethic.
- Demonstrated commitment to process and continuous improvement.
- Excellent time management, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to quality, safety, and GMP standards.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in troubleshooting complex machine faults.
- Knowledge of electrical and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to resolve machine faults efficiently.
