Electricians Project Costing Specialist

Our company is seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as an Electrical Estimator. As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely estimates for company projects from pre-tender to post tender stage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a consistent workflow to ensure the company's operational efficiency in both Ireland and the UK.
  • Ensure each tender is completed consistently and in line with company procedure, ensuring that all necessary information is accurately captured and presented.
  • Gain knowledge of actual installation time and review projects after completion to evaluate where actual costs differ from budgeted costs.
  • Assist the estimating team in achieving the business unit's revenue plan by providing support in the production of accurate and timely estimates.
  • Prepare each tender in a structured and accurate format, taking into account all foreseeable construction, technical, and commercial risks.
  • Produce accurate take off / measures of tenders and input this data into estimating software to ensure a full understanding of the project's prime cost.
  • Vet enquiries received and dispatch accurate supplier / subcontract enquiries within specified timescales. Work closely with specialist subcontractors to assess quotations and validate information received, ensuring compliance with specifications.
  • Develop Product Substitution and Value Engineering options to optimize project costs and outcomes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, pricing, competition, and volume of work to ensure the preparation of relevant and competitive estimates.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator or in preparing electrical estimations.
  • A strong understanding of electrical installations is desirable but not essential.
  • A Bachelor Degree Level in Engineering or similar discipline.
  • An understanding of Health and Safety requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
