The role involves provision of technical advice and services to support client requirements in connection with highway infrastructure operations and maintenance.

 

We are seeking an experienced professional to work as a key member of a small core team drawing on specialist and expert resources from various disciplines. The individual would ideally have experience in contract administration and project management, particularly in the highway, transportation or construction industries.

 

Responsibilities include coordinating input from specialists, maintaining project status knowledge, and reporting internally. The successful candidate will also support the Commission Manager in effective contract management, including progress reporting, milestones, and interim valuations.

 

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Microsoft applications, particularly Project, Excel, and Word. Experience working on infrastructure O&M schemes, Intelligent Transport Systems, and PPP contracts is highly desirable.

 

Requirements:

  • A level eight qualification recognized by the National Framework of Qualifications/Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), or equivalent qualification in civil, structural, mechanical, or electrical/electronic engineering
  • At least 5 years post-graduate experience in infrastructural projects, preferably in managing resources, prioritizing tasks, and working with minimal supervision

 

Key Skills:

  • Experience in project or programme management, ideally in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Knowledge of commercial risk and procurement strategies
  • Familiarity with Matrix management environments and integrated teams delivering project objectives
  • Understanding of current national, regional, and local guidance/standards with regards to highway engineering
