About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our team as part of our ongoing efforts in medical device innovation. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving the development of new products, leading higher-level engineering efforts, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of new medical devices by leading technical assessments, defining specifications, materials, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Translate inputs from regulatory, quality, marketing, human factors, etc., into product requirements, specifications, and detailed trace matrices.
  • Interface with stakeholders to identify product opportunities, develop solutions, solve problems, and complete projects leading up to commercialization.
  • Direct or lead higher-level engineering efforts to design products, processes, equipment, tooling, and components using engineering principles and analysis techniques.
  • Perform product testing, create models and prototypes to prove out new designs and changes to existing designs.
  • Lead Engineering Development projects, including problem-solving projects to resolve issues in manufacturing or product performance.
  • Champion continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and equipment through Lean Manufacturing and statistical data analysis techniques.
  • Participate in project, design, and technical reviews, and interview, recommend, and assist in the selection of department personnel.
  • Troubleshoot and coordinate improvements to existing products, manufacturing processes, and machine test equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System and adhere to company policies, QMS procedures, and housekeeping standards.
