Job Description

The Financial Accountant position at Leinster Appointments involves preparing financial statements based on the general ledger. This requires a strong understanding of accounting and finance principles to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the statutory accounts.

Main Responsibilities:

* Management of weekly accounts process to minimize discrepancies between weekly and monthly figures
* Preparation of journal entries, accruals, and general ledger within strict deadlines
* Creation of monthly reporting packs, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets
* Development of fixed assets, capital expenditure, and amortization schedules
* Preparation of prepayment and accrual reports
* Reconciliation and sign-off of intercompany transactions
* General ledger reconciliation and spend analysis
* Provision of reports to senior management highlighting key business and operational control issues

Required Skills and Qualifications:

* Part-qualified or qualified accountant with excellent technical skills
* Strong working knowledge of monthly reconciliations and identifying opportunities for improvement
* High awareness of current technical accounting and reporting requirements
* Proficient in computer software, particularly Excel, with a solid understanding of accounting software principles
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively
* Effective time management, planning, and organizational skills are essential for this role
