Job Description:

The role of the Assistant Director of Nursing is to provide support to the Director of Nursing in managing the day-to-day clinical and operational aspects of a nursing home, ensuring high-quality care. This involves leading and supervising the delivery of person-centred nursing care, monitoring and evaluating clinical practices, and supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring of care plans.

The ADON will also oversee infection prevention measures, assist with preparing for, responding to, and following up on HIQA inspections and audits, and maintain and update required documentation.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise the delivery of person-centred nursing care.
  • Monitor and evaluate clinical practices to ensure they meet current HIQA standards.
  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

Requirements:
  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active registration required.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in nursing management or similar aged care setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HIQA, National Standards, and relevant legislation.
