The ideal candidate will be registered on the Irish Medical Council (IMC) Specialist Register and have a background in general practice, with a particular emphasis on cardiology. They will have experience in delivering general health screenings, including cardiovascular risk assessments, as well as leading initiatives to promote health and prevent disease in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive medical care, including general health checks and cardiovascular assessments
  • Lead both general and cardiovascular health screening services
  • Develop and implement UPMC's preventive cardiac care programs
  • Facilitate patient referrals to cardiology services when advanced diagnostics or specialist care is required

Requirements:

  • IMC Registration: Must be registered on the IMC Specialist Register, with a strong background in general practice, ideally with a special interest in cardiology
  • Postgraduate Experience: Minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience, including exposure to both general health and cardiovascular care
  • Health Screening Expertise: Experience in delivering health screening services, including general health checks and cardiovascular risk assessments

This role offers a unique opportunity to combine general practice with a focus on cardiology, leading comprehensive health screening services, collaborating with cardiac technicians on diagnostics, and promoting preventive care.
