About the Role:

  • We are seeking an experienced Senior Corporate Counsel to join our team in Dublin, Ireland.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with legal, regulatory, and compliance affairs of the Allied World Europe and Lloyd's Syndicate 2232 platforms and their related entities.
  • This will include negotiating regional contracts, providing legal advice, and monitoring for updates on legal and regulatory matters.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong insurance and reinsurance experience, as well as a deep understanding of UK and EU laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development and implementation of legal strategies to support business objectives.
  • Negotiate and assist with regional contracts and general corporate and governance matters.
  • Provide legal advice and training to the business, ensuring consistency across all regions.
  • Monitor for and advise on legal and regulatory updates, including changes to laws and regulations affecting the insurance industry.
  • Collaborate with the Legal & Compliance Department globally to ensure global consistency where possible.

Requirements:

  • An attorney with three to six years of total legal experience with a recognized law firm and/or in a corporate setting.
  • Must be a qualified / licensed solicitor in England and/or Ireland.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK and EU laws and regulations.
  • Experience dealing with the CBI, FCA, PRA and/or Lloyd's.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a busy environment.
