
Chief Patient Services Coordinator

As a Clerical Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless administration of patient admission from first contact to handover to clinical colleagues. Your responsibilities will include welcoming patients and their families professionally, delivering excellence in the administration of the patient episode throughout the admissions process, and verifying patient identification and records.
Key Responsibilities- Verify patient insurance details as required and ensure all paperwork is accurate, signed and in order prior to patient leaving the Admissions Department.
- Rotate between reception, admissions, and operations duties, including scheduling patient admissions, cancellations, time changes and pre-admission of patients.
- Perform switchboard duties and answer the telephone professionally according to policy.
- Treat colleagues, patients, families and visitors with dignity and respect at all times.
Additionally, you will assist with admissions of patients to Inpatient Ward and Day Ward, prepare charts for the following day and file letters in charts. You will maintain awareness of patient privacy and confidentiality in all activities and participate in accreditation activities and uphold continuous quality improvement.
Required Skills & Qualifications- Educated to Leaving Certificate Level or equivalent.
- Accurate data entry and keyboard skills.
- Previous experience in an acute/clinical setting is desirable.
- Self-directed and able to work independently; diplomatic and tactful with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
You must be a team player with an open and flexible attitude, possessing excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential, and you should be open to change and able to adapt to a changing environment.
