EHS Specialist Job Description

This role requires an EHS Specialist to support a construction project. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring construction activities are carried out safely and in compliance with relevant regulations and corporate requirements.

Responsibilities include coordinating and managing the Permit to Work system, ensuring compliance with EHS regulations related to PSCS/PSDP responsibilities for construction activities, delivering EHS inductions to contractors and project personnel, reviewing and approving Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), preparing and maintaining EHS reports, records, and statistics, supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of EHS management systems, policies, and procedures, conducting risk assessments, and monitoring the implementation of control measures. Additionally, this role involves monitoring compliance with legislative and corporate EHS standards, ensuring readiness for internal and external audits, and assisting in the development and coordination of emergency response procedures.

Key Qualifications & Experience:
  • A relevant third-level qualification in Occupational Health & Safety and/or Environmental discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 35 years' experience in an EHS role, preferably in a construction environment within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical sector.
  • A strong working knowledge of Irish EHS legislation, especially related to construction projects.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to engage with contractors and stakeholders across multidisciplinary teams.
