Senior Credit Analyst Role

We are seeking a skilled Senior Credit Analyst to play a key role in supporting our credit analysis team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of portfolio companies, assisting in the monitoring of client's credit portfolios, and working closely with senior analysts and other internal teams to gather and analyze financial data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Health Assessment: Interpret capital structures and liquidity profiles of portfolio companies to assess their financial health.
  • Credit Metrics Calculation: Calculate key credit metrics and leverage ratios to assess the credit worthiness of portfolio companies.
  • Portfolio Onboarding and Monitoring: Assist in the onboarding and monitoring of new portfolio companies by analyzing financial statements, lender presentations, compliance certificates, and credit memos.
  • Risk Identification: Review and assess financial data sets to identify trends and potential risks.
  • Internal Collaboration: Liaise with internal teams to address credit and financial queries, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Model Development: Support the building and updating of historical financial models and portfolio models under the guidance of senior analysts.
  • Client Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of client credit reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Standardization: Standardize corporate management accounts to client's financial and credit templates.
  • Client Relationships: Develop strong professional relationships with key clients.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about industry trends and developments that may impact credit monitoring.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5 years of relevant experience in finance, credit analysis, or a related area (internships or co-op experience will be considered).
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills with a foundational understanding of financial statement analysis, fundamental data and credit mechanisms. Proficiency in calculations and ratios used to assess the creditworthiness of portfolio companies.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of capital structures and liquidity profiles. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial modeling concepts.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
