Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced On-Call Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team. The successful candidate will have expertise in general adult psychiatry and a sub-specialized interest in either Psychiatry of Later Life or Neuropsychiatry or Rehabilitation.

The role involves providing on-call cover during weekdays and weekends, as well as participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure seamless patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver high-quality psychiatric care to patients with complex needs, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans.
  2. Participate in on-call rosters, providing 24-hour cover during specified periods, including weekends and public holidays.
  3. Collaborate with colleagues to maintain clinical governance standards, ensuring the delivery of safe and effective patient care.
  4. Maintain strong knowledge of health, safety, and statutory regulations affecting healthcare organisations, ensuring compliance at all times.

Person Specification:

  1. Full registration in the Specialist Register (Psychiatrist) of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland.
  2. Experience in general adult psychiatry with a sub-specialized interest in either Psychiatry of Later Life or Neuropsychiatry or Rehabilitation is desirable.
  3. Energetic individual with solid clinical experience in working with a team of diverse clinicians and strong knowledge of the concepts and operation of Clinical Governance.
  4. Have strong knowledge and experience of health, safety and other statutory regulations affecting a healthcare organisation.
  5. Flexibility in delivering on-call hours.
