Our industry-leading developer data platform, MongoDB Atlas, offers a globally distributed, multi-cloud database available in over 115 regions across major cloud providers. This enables customers to build and run applications anywhere—on premises, or across cloud providers.

The Atlas Clusters Automation team is responsible for building the software that manages the MongoDB database hosted on cloud provider infrastructure. The team focuses on developing an agent that runs on and manages processes on every virtual machine in our fleet of Atlas clusters.

We are constantly challenged to design features that ensure Atlas clusters are secure, available, durable, and performant while running large-scale, critical workloads.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of motivated individual contributors who are eager to learn and grow
  • Contribute to the code, design, and architecture of the systems your team develops
  • Work with stakeholders throughout MongoDB to build our roadmap and product offerings
  • Work with customers and support engineers to fix issues
  • Foster an inclusive and respectful work environment according to MongoDB's Core Values

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of professional software development experience
  • At least 3 years of people management experience
  • Has led engineering teams that have built and maintained large scale systems
  • Skilled at writing large-scale, distributed backend systems in a compiled language (Go, Java, C#, etc.)
  • Experience with at least one major cloud provider technology (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Eager to solve tough problems
  • Curious, collaborative, and motivated
