Research Fellow - Epigenetics of Gastrointestinal Diseases

We are seeking an exceptional Research Fellow to join our team at the RCSI School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to a highly dynamic research group focused on epigenetics and gastrointestinal diseases.


Job Description:

The Research Fellow will work closely with our team to investigate the epigenetic mechanisms underlying gastrointestinal diseases, including Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD) and Colorectal Cancer. This role involves analyzing large datasets generated from next-generation sequencing and microarray technologies, as well as collaborating with international partners to develop novel bioinformatics tools.


Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genetics, Machine Learning, or a related biological subject.
  • Experience in analysis of next-generation sequencing and microarray-derived epigenetic/omic-data.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as R, Python, and version-controlled collaborative software development.
  • Familiarity with machine learning classification, including random forest and neural networks.
