Senior Retail Operations Manager

This role presents a key opportunity for a confident and capable leader to step into a leadership position within a well-established retail brand that values performance and offers genuine long-term career growth potential.

The ideal candidate will take full ownership of day-to-day store operations, team development, customer experience, and compliance. This is a challenging role requiring strong commercial awareness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish high standards across all areas of the store presentation, service, and performance, ensuring a consistent and exceptional customer experience.
  • Create a customer-centric culture where quality service and experience are consistently delivered.
  • Ensure operational policies, safety procedures, and food safety standards (HACCP) are strictly upheld, promoting a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Recruit, coach, and lead a motivated team, providing feedback, guidance, and ongoing development opportunities.
  • Analyse sales trends and make proactive decisions to maximise store performance, driving sales and efficiency improvements.
  • Effectively delegate tasks, aligning responsibilities with team strengths and business needs.
  • Manage inventory, stock control, and take full responsibility for store financial performance, optimising resources and reducing costs.
  • Plan resources strategically and manage staffing levels to support operational demands, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a busy retail setting, demonstrating a track record of success and growth.
  • A proven ability to inspire, support, and get the best out of your team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness with a history of driving sales and efficiency improvements, analysing data and making informed decisions.
  • Experience in rota planning, scheduling, and long-term workforce coordination, ensuring effective resource allocation.
  • A commitment to outstanding customer service and consistent team delivery, prioritising customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Confidence in decision-making and problem-solving on the shop floor, taking calculated risks and adapting to changing circumstances.
  • Knowledge of planograms and visual merchandising standards, ensuring visually appealing store displays and promotions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a calm and professional leadership style, influencing and motivating others.
