This is an exciting opportunity to join our financial services team as a trainee accountant. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts, maintaining and reconciling the general ledger and supporting financial records.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts by gathering and analyzing data from various sources.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and supporting financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support the month-end accounts receivable process by generating and issuing sales invoices, managing customer payments, and resolving any discrepancies that may arise.
- Conduct daily reconciliations to identify and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Support on expenses by processing and monitoring corporate expense claims in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monitor cash flow and prepare daily or weekly cash reports as required.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes by ensuring all journals, accruals, and prepayments are accurately recorded.
- Collaborate with the wider finance and operations team to ensure financial data accuracy and support business decisions.
- Support external audits and respond to queries as required.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives, finance systems updates, and integrations to enhance operational efficiency.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Economics.
- Actively studying or planning to study towards a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or similar).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Good working knowledge of Excel.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive, curious mindset and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
