Tendering Engineer Role

Job Overview:

This is a key position in our organization where you will lead the tendering activities of leading-edge projects. As an Electrical Tendering Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering tenders on time, safely, to budget and to the required quality standards.

You will work with a vibrant, agile and multi-functional team in delivering high-quality results. To succeed in this role, you will need to have excellent commercial skills, including the ability to understand project fundamentals and prepare tender documents that meet client expectations.

In addition to your technical skills, you will need to have strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients, engineers, construction teams and other stakeholders.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead all tendering activities associated with the High Voltage department
  • Understand commercial fundamentals of a project and prepare tender documents that meet client expectations
  • Work with engineering, construction and commercial teams to deliver high-quality results
  • Attend and lead post-tender meetings
  • Coordinate interfaces between electrical and civil engineering in any tendering requirements
  • Review and understand tender specifications, documentation and identify BID deliverables
  • Manage interface with clients during tender and post-tender stage, including clarification process
  • Compile and assess technical submittals and tender returns
  • Liaise with estimation department on commercial proposal associated with offering
  • Evaluate and ensure compliance with relevant business procedures, highlighting non-compliance observed
  • Conduct periodic review of work practices, identifying efficiencies, increasing productivity and reducing risk accordingly
  • Manage various tender submittal portals
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Qualifications:
  • 3rd level qualification in Electrical Engineering or suitable relevant experience in industry
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in related or relevant field
  • Skills:
  • High Voltage 'HV' experience required
  • Professional Acumen – Represent at senior level in meetings, presentations, technical workshops etc., in professional, competent and capable manner
  • Strong IT skills – Ability to deliver presentations, reports etc.
  • Experience at managing multiple disciplined and number of tenders
  • A strong communicator with excellent verbal and writing proficiency
  • Able to work on own initiative and work as part of team
  • A Positive solution focused mind-set
  • Flexible to travel
