Instrumentation and Calibration Specialist

Leading the instrumentation and calibration programs in a cutting-edge biotech manufacturing facility is a pivotal role that requires strong technical expertise and leadership skills.
The Principal Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer will spearhead the site's instrumentation and calibration initiatives, ensuring optimal equipment performance, regulatory compliance, and long-term reliability across the facility.
About this Role:- Owning the site calibration program to ensure readiness for audits and regulatory inspections
- Providing subject matter expertise during health and safety audits and liaising with relevant authorities
- Driving reliability improvements, identifying equipment obsolescence, and implementing planned replacements
- Offering technical guidance and training to the maintenance team to enhance their capabilities
- Developing, reviewing, and owning SOPs, calibration standards, and measurement of uncertainty programs
- Analysing predictive and condition-based monitoring data to inform continuous improvement initiatives
- Supporting equipment selection for capital projects
- Degree (Level 8 or equivalent) in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering
- At least 5 years' experience in a maintenance or engineering role within a regulated industry (pharma, biotech, med device)
- In-depth knowledge of calibration methodologies and instrumentation systems
- Familiarity with EU directives (e.g., ATEX) and international engineering standards (ISA, IEC, ISO)
- Proven track record in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and reliability engineering
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and lead change
