This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high-performing analytical laboratory team, ensuring efficient and effective operations. As a Laboratory Team Lead, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising all activities involved in the running of the laboratory.
About the Role:
The ideal candidate will have excellent technical knowledge of the team's area of responsibility and previous supervisory experience in a GLP/GMP analytical laboratory environment within the pharmaceutical or medical device industry. Strong organizational skills, people management, problem-solving, and leadership abilities are essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and supervise all activities involved in the running of the laboratory.
- Schedule testing and release product from the laboratory upon completion of testing.
- Provide technical and problem-solving support to the team as required.
- Carry out project work associated with implementing new specifications and methods of analysis.
- Manage the maintenance and calibration of analytical equipment and review associated documentation.
- Evaluate finished product and raw material analysis prior to shipment/use.
- Maintain acceptable work standards (e.g., safety, environmental, cGMP housekeeping).
- Review and approval of Laboratory Investigations and CAPAs in a timely manner.
- Ensure laboratory audit readiness at all times and participate in audits.
- Identify training gaps present in the team and take necessary measures to close these gaps.
- Delegate tasks to team members and provide feedback on their performance.
Requirements:
- BSc/Masters degree desirable and/or relevant experience.
- Excellent technical knowledge of the team's area of responsibility.
- Previous supervisory experience in a GLP/GMP analytical laboratory environment.
- Strong organizational skills, people management, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
- Computer literacy.
